Temporary, not a backup
Temporary addresses are valid for 24 hours by default. To keep receiving email, extend the expiry before it runs out. We cannot guarantee recovery after an address expires or is deleted.
Credentials stay in your browser
Your browser stores the credentials needed to access your inbox and sign in. They are separate from your public address and should not be forwarded, screenshotted or shared.
Forwarding records are separate
Alias forwarding requires verification of your regular email address. Incoming messages are shown for a 30-day period. Disabling an alias and deleting stored messages are separate actions.
What information we process
EmailSaw processes random email addresses, subject lines, sender and recipient addresses, message content, receipt times and delivery status to assign addresses, receive email, verify access and forward messages. When you enable alias forwarding, we also process the regular email address you provide and verify, the aliases you create, and their enabled or disabled status.
When you visit the site, network infrastructure may process your IP address, request time, browser details and error information to establish connections, protect security and troubleshoot issues. This does not mean the service provides completely anonymous communication. Do not use a temporary email address to hide your online identity or send highly sensitive information.
How we use this information
We use message content to show you the emails you receive, and your forwarding destination to deliver alias messages to the email address you specify. Sign-in verification codes confirm that you can access that email account. Authenticator settings provide an additional check when you sign in later.
We may also use necessary technical information to detect abuse, limit unusual requests and diagnose delivery failures. We do not use inbox contents to build advertising profiles or sell your emails. The legal basis for processing varies by jurisdiction; where applicable, it may include providing the service, legitimate security interests and compliance with legal obligations.
Retention and deletion limits
Temporary inboxes and ongoing forwarding follow separate lifecycles. The countdown in the interface uses the expiry time returned by the server. An extension takes effect only after it is confirmed successfully. Closing the page does not immediately delete your emails.
| Information | Retention period or handling | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Temporary address and emails | 24 hours by default; extensions are based on the new expiry time. | Delete an individual email, change the address or wait for it to expire. |
| Alias message records | The console shows records from the last 30 days. | Delete the relevant email or disable the alias it came through. |
| Regular email and alias settings | Used for access and forwarding while the service relationship and settings remain active. | Delete the alias. For other requests, contact support for verification. |
| Browser credentials | Stored in that browser until you sign out, clear them or they expire. | Sign out or clear this site's local data. |
| Security and troubleshooting information | Handled as needed for troubleshooting, security and applicable legal requirements. We cannot guarantee it will be deleted at the same time as emails. | Contact support with details of your request. |
Deleting a copy from our service does not delete copies held by the sender, your forwarding destination or other recipients. Backup rotation, legal obligations or ongoing security incidents may also affect how long technical deletion takes. We do not describe the delete button in the interface as an instant, worldwide erasure.
Local storage and page analytics
This site uses your browser's local storage to keep your inbox address, access token and sign-in status, and may use session storage to remember the email you are currently reading. This lets you refresh the page and continue using the same address instead of creating a new inbox each time.
Clearing this site's data, switching browsers or using private browsing may prevent you from accessing your original inbox. If analytics are enabled in a deployment, they are used only to understand page usage and service performance. Do not send tokens, exports of local storage or complete sensitive emails in support messages.
Service providers and external email content
Infrastructure providers that help us deliver the website, storage, security and email may process relevant information as needed to perform their services. Forwarded emails also pass through your destination email provider, whose retention practices EmailSaw does not control.
Links in emails may take you away from this site, and external pages are governed by their own privacy policies. Although email content is processed for safety, it may still contain scams. An email appearing in your inbox does not mean its sender has been authenticated.
Security, requests and children
Protect your devices and regular email account, keep your authenticator secure, and sign out on shared devices. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Do not use a temporary address to store identity documents, medical information, bank account recovery details or your only account recovery method.
Where applicable law allows, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, or ask us to restrict its processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. This service is not intended for children below the age at which they can independently consent under local law. If you believe a child's information has been submitted improperly, contact support so we can verify and address the matter.
Policy updates and contact
We may update this policy if the service or legal requirements change, and will revise the effective date on this page. If a change significantly affects how the service is used, we will explain it through an appropriate on-site notice. We will not assume you have agreed to new uses of your information.
For privacy requests, email support@emailsaw.com with the address concerned, the relevant date range and the type of request. To avoid disclosing emails to someone without permission, we may ask you to reasonably verify your identity or control of the address. Do not send passwords or verification codes.
